Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Elgine “Jean” A. Toney, 76, who passed away on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at 10:45 a.m. at her home in Crowley surrounded by her family.
Dan Didier, Hospice Chaplain of Acadiana, will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, Jan. 5, at 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. A Rosary will be recited Monday at 6 in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 8 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include one daughter, Darlene A. Toney of Crowley; three sons, Douglas H. Toney Jr. and Jeffery Toney, both of Crowley, and Glenn Toney of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Candance and Cade Toney, Aaron and Lance Benoit, Adanna and Brandy Bertrand and Shawn Cormier; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Mason Abshire of Toledo Bend; and one sister, Una Mouton of Crowley.
Pallbearers for the services will be Doug Toney Jr., Jeffrey A. Toney, Shawn Cormier, Cade Toney, Jimmy Sonnier and Michael Toney. Honorary Pallbearer will be Rusty Toney.
Ms. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Olivia Abshire; three brothers and seven sisters.
