A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Marlene Hebert Leger, 79, who died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at 10:17 p.m. in Iota.
Father Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours from noon Monday to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. A rosary will be recited Monday at 6:30 p.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs. Leger is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles H. Leger Sr. of Iota; two daughters, Marion L. Klumpp and husband Byron of Iota, and Tina C. Washington and husband Chad of Eunice; two sons, Charles H. Leger Jr. and wife Cynthia of Duson, and Donavan Anthony Leger and wife Theresa of Westlake; one sister, Peggy Hebert of Crowley; one sister-in-law, Aline Hebert of Crowley; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and two granddaughters who were raised as their own, Heidi Leger and Erin Leger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaston and Susie Burton Hebert; one sister, Sarah Hebert; two brothers, Hubert and Wallace Hebert; one grandchild, Steffan Joseph Roy; and one great-grandchild, Kylan Jude Mier.
Pallbearers will be Charles Feazell, Brian Klumpp, Anthony Hebert, Gaston Hebert, Winston Hebert and Justin Hebert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Khoen Johnson, Chad Washington, Byron Klumpp and Jeremy Roberie.
